The Banana Game

The banana game is a simulation game which has everything to do with : “the buyer and his involvement in world trade”.

Jeu BananeThe game is intended for young people, pupils and secondary school students. It seeks to explain sustainable development issues and to raise the level of awareness of these young groups, making them look for "fair" trade economic models, encouraging them to come up with their own solutions.

It is intended as a training tool that makes them aware about the current stakes in development, and the economic and commercial trade relations between countries from the north and countries from the south.

It is also an education tool. It introduces basic terms concerning politics and the trade system. It explains the roles of the different players who intervene in the trade and production model.

In short, it is a tool that helps reflect on the choice of production and trade models, and on the economic, political and social means players have at hand to develop them.
