Detailed description of project :

Management Unit of the ACP Country Integration Aid Program within WTO Multilateral trade system

Global Objectives :

To bring a technical support to WTO agreements implementation (Thad is member since 1996) and to foster negotiation capacities allowing the Country to insure a wider integration of its economy face to multilateral trade system
To ease the implementation of trade policies reforms required to improve performance in the Chad production system thanks to a development strategy set to fight against poverty

Specific Objective :

Reinforce negotiation and implementation capacity on WTO agreements issues insuring a good training
Implement a study on the effects of customs duties reduction on State incomes and a study on Chadian economy competitiveness, useable if necessary during the coming negotiations
Implement an impact study on the opening of utmost importance services (telecommunication; tourism and holidays, financial services etc.)
Reinforce legal and institutional capacity of harmonization, notification and following up on prior commitments issues

Implementation and expected outputs :

The RONGEAD’s expert has been mandated in order to lead the international and local experts team: several field missions have been implemented (organization of meetings and training workshops for Ministry of Trade public officers and Universities) as well as drafting reports.
