Detailed description of project :

Direct beneficiary :
Ivory Coast Republic - Ministry of Trade - Management of Economic Organizations and Foreign Trade.

Global Objective :
Reinforce Ivory Coast capacity to implement WTO agreements (member since 1995) and make its participation to multilateral trade negotiations easier

Specific Objectives :

Reinforce Ivory Coast institutional capacity to implement and negotiate WTO agreements by training instructors as Ministries and Universities that will immediately transfer know-how to well-staffed institutions and economic operators
Achieve actual results, stimulating public-private dialogue dealing with WTO agreements implementation (reforms roadmap and implementation schedule) and future agreement negotiations (new proposals and specific commitment)
Reinforce Ivorian economic interests’ power in Geneva

Implementation and expected outputs :

RONGEAD’s expert has been mandated in order to lead the international and local experts team: several field missions have been implemented (organization of meetings and training workshops for Ministry of Trade public officers and Universities) and for drafting reports. The aim of the project was also targeted towards young university students who were engaged in writing their thesis on international trade regulation issues.
